The Key West Adventure is a dynamic, multi-day journey that winds through Florida’s most iconic natural, cultural, and coastal experiences. From airboats in the Everglades and feeding giant tarpon, to touring historic Key West and relaxing at the hotels, this tour blends science, wildlife, food, and fun. With hands-on animal encounters, flight simulators, and sunset celebrations, it's the perfect warm-up for Sea Base adventures.

Your adventure starts as we head east a few miles for a hike through a salt water mangrove forest where we learn about the eco-system of South Florida and climb a fourstory observation tower for a breathtaking view of Ft. Lauderdale.
We will provide $20 per person and let the scouts dive into lunch at Marina Village! From tacos to pizza and gelato, there’s something tasty for everyone—plus waterfront views to enjoy while you eat.
Head to the hotel on the famous Ft. Lauderdale Beach!
Soak up the sun with a 2-hour beach party! Think volleyball, frisbee, football, wiffle ball, a group swim, and plenty of hang-out time. No gear provided, just good vibes at one of the prettiest beaches in South Florida.
Dinner time — full bellies and happy Scouts, whatever’s on the menu!
Spend the evening relaxing at the pool or just hanging out with your friends.

8:15 AM departure to Sea Base!
Along the way you will enjoy a guided visit to the Everglades Alligator Park where you will see over 2,000 alligators!
Private behind the scenes tour at Everglades Alligator Park. Your group will get to meet the alligators up close and help feed some of the larger gators which range in size from 6 to 10 feet! You might also get to handle a lemur, feed a giant gopher tortoise, or hold a 10 foot python. This experience is incredible!
After meeting the animals up close, your group will board an airboat for a private ride through the Everglades. Be on the lookout for gators and other wildlife as you zip across the world famous “River of Grass”.
Picnic lunch at the Alligator Park. Enjoy a boxed lunch under the tiki huts. You may also want to sample a Florida delicacy…fried alligator meat!
Quick stop at the world-famous Robert is Here Fruit Stand. Dating to 1959, this local outdoor fruit market has been in existence for over 60 years. Learn about and taste some of the native fruits as well as some rare and exotic fruits. Option to purchase a yummy milkshake made with ingredients grown right here on the farm. They are delicious!
Next will be an adventure you will never forget! You will see, up close and personal, hundreds of Tarpon ranging in size from 50 to over 100 pounds. Experience the thrill of a lifetime as you hand feed these massive game fish.
Next it is on to the southernmost city of Key West along the scenic overseas highway. Upon arrival, take in the panoramic view of Key West from the highest point in town, the rooftop observation deck of a downtown hotel.
Enjoy dinner at Kellie’s – a Key West staple and the original headquarters of Pan Am airlines.
Let’s head over to the world-famous Sunset Celebration in Mallory Square on Key West harbor! Watch the amazing and entertaining street performers as the sun sets over the Atlantic Ocean.
Check into a Key West hotel and go for a swim in the pool.

We take off for a walking tour of historic Key West starting at the Southern Most Point of the continental United States, just 90 miles from Cuba. Plenty of great picture taking here!
Along our journey through Key West we will climb the Key West Lighthouse, explore the Mel Fisher Museum where you will feel the weight of an actual gold bar discovered off the coast of the Florida Keys and enjoy some free time in old town Key West.
Meet up for lunch at a local restaurant and relax in the air conditioning while enjoying a good meal.
Arrive at Sea Base in the afternoon, check in with your crew, and get ready for the adventure ahead!
Depart Sea Base on the 8:30 AM Blue Sky Express.

Arrive Ft. Lauderdale International by 11:00 AM. Departure flight must leave after 1 PM*.
Departures from Sea Base Islamorada (Scuba/Sailing) require a flight that departs Ft. Lauderdale after 1:00 PM.
Departures from Sea Base Brinton Environmental Center (Out Island / Keys Adventure) require a flight that departs Ft. Lauderdale after 2:30 PM.
Coral Reef Sailing Crews need flights that depart after 3:30 PM.
